Tollywood producer KS Rama Rao has responded to the controversy surrounding Vizag Filmnagar Cultural Centre. Rama Rao rubbished the media reports and added that he is still the president of the club and explained how the club was established in Vizag.
“In order to develop the film industry also in AP, previous governments and biggies from the industry zeroed up Vizag as the best destination. Movie enthusiasts from the region established the Filmnagar club and I have been in the President role for the last five years,” said KS Rama Rao.
The producer also explained how FNCC was set up in Vizag. “Initially FNCC was supposed to be Thotlakonda. But the Buddhist community in the same place objected and so ex-CM Chandrababu Naidu allotted five acres near Ramanaidu Studios. Still both the plots are under FNCC’s name but the one near Ramanaidu Studios had faced an issue. Due to delay in permission, the construction was postponed multiple times. So one of my friends offered a piece of land close to the beach and currently we are running operations from there,” said Rama Rao.
On the controversy, he commented that people who want to shame FNCC might have done this misdeed. Such reports would also damage the reputation of FNCC and he urged the media to restrain from reporting such baseless things.
Rama Rao further said he spoke to AP Cinematography minister Perni Nani regarding FNCC and the state government is very positive in resolving our concerns. “State government has its own worries and this doesn’t mean it is not bothered about the film industry. They will take decisions when they get time and we appreciated when the AP government revised the ticket prices and also allowed special prices for films like ‘RRR’.
