After its grandeur promotions, intriguing trailer, terrific songs, and fascinating posters, the long-awaited film of the year ‘RRR’ from the maverick filmmaker SS Rajamouli has been released today. The pure cinematic perfection leaves fans in a frenzy and it’s undoubtedly a big day for Indian cinema!
So far, seldom have we found a negative review and masses from all sections are jaw-dropped over the team RRR’s spectacular efforts and outcome. Both Tarak and Charan garnered a massive fan base across the nation for their phenomenal performances. Several popular websites reviewed passionately as soon as the film got released. But what and how they felt about the film is a big deal, especially after Baahubali and Pushpa have set certain standards of Tollywood.
Here’s how the national media sites quoted the film:
Times Of India (3.5/5): “The climax leaves more to be desired. The good thing however is that the film manages to surprise you. Rajamouli also manages to use certain tropes set up in the initial portions of the film in the latter portions cleverly.
Nonetheless, Rajamouli manages to pull off something people have been pining for – a commercial, action drama that will keep you thoroughly entertained – which it does. The length also doesn’t prove to be a hindrance, thanks to a tight screenplay. The VFX in certain portions could’ve been better”.
India Today (3.5/5): “RRR is Jr NTR and Ram Charan’s show all the way. They have literally lived the roles and have given their all for the film. Be it the dance sequences or the strenuous fight scenes, you can see the amount of hard work that these two actors have put in.
RRR is technically sound. MM Keeravani’s music, Senthil Kumar’s cinematography, Sreekar Prasad’s editing and the computer graphics complement each other so well. When it all comes together, what you see is nothing short of a visual spectacle. Though there are shortcomings, RRR is a film that deserves a watch on the big screens.”
News18: “The sheer physicality and intensity of Ram Charan and NTR is a sight to behold. Their camaraderie is simply amazing. Rajamouli has given his own take to the two characters by describing Ram as fire and Bheem as water. They both shoulder the film without showing any burden. Rajamouli deserves a salute for his vision and ambition. RRR is a visual extravaganza that the audience must feast on.”
Pinkvilla (3.5/5): “RRR celebrates Indian cinema in all its glory. SS Rajamouli brings in his own vision of creating big canvas drama with all the larger-than-life action around a routine tale of friendship. And it’s his conviction and ability to think big that takes the world of RRR to the next level despite some limitations at the script level in terms of a simplistic core conflict.
RRR has the best action sequences to offer in an Indian film with an unimaginable interval block and a roaring finale. Be assured, despite some flaws in the second half, you will be invested in this big canvas world of Rajamouli in the times when India was a “Sone Ki Chidiya”. It’s rightfully termed India’s biggest action drama”.
Republic World: “As a period actioner, the film aims to score high on the storyline but the grip eventually loosens a little in the second half. The last 10 minutes where the protagonists leave their rivalry behind seems to catch the attention..
In brevity, RRR is suited for those who love action flicks backed with power-packed stunts and well-directed combat sequences without questioning the plot holes. It manages to entertain but commands the audiences to drop every ounce of logic and expectations of a credible storyline”.
Meanwhile, on Twitter and social media platforms, the hardcore cine lovers are celebrating the magnum opus like never before. A plethora of reviews appeared from Twitterati to share their happiness. Overall, the film left a profound mark in the history of cinemas and effortlessly captivated the hearts of everyone.
