When a big film like Rajamouli’s magnum opus RRR is coming, it will be tough to withstand the tide at the box office for other small movies. And two weeks after the release of this gigantic film which is running to packed crowds at the box office, Varun Tej’s Ghani is pumping iron to test the waters.
Before the release of RRR, people are not in a mood to watch any other movie in theatres as they are saving their excitement, time and money for this magnum opus. However, Raj Tarun has dared to come to theatres with “Standup Rahul” and that film bombed miserably at the box office. While the content itself is not engaging, the RRR wave further suppressed it.
Then comes Taapsee’s Mishan Impossible which is promoted by even Megastar Chiranjeevi, but all that hype didn’t work as it happened to release only a week after RRR’s arrival. Within no time, the film vanished from theatres and the talk about it doesn’t exist anywhere. Though the content of the movie is to be blamed first, it’s the RRR mania that actually sent it out.
And now, we have Mega hero Varun Tej daring big time to send “Ghani” to theatres though RRR mania is still going very strong. “I strongly believe that Ghani is going to become a blockbuster if I’ve to go by my hunch” said Varun Tej other day at Ghani pre-release event. Well, if this film really withstands the tide and scores a hit, then Varun Tej will be the first hero to stand alongside RRR.
Even in Bollywood, the likes of John Abraham failed to score with Attack, while big and popular heroes chose to stay silent for at least three weeks from the date of RRR’s release.
