On one side, some common people who have been to the preview of the Hindi version of National Award winning “Jersey” are heaping praises on hero Shahid Kapoor and director Gowtham Tinnanuri. And surprisingly, some senior film critics are actually raining criticism on the movie for being a simple frame-to-frame copy without any scope for improvement.
First of all, popular critic Taran Adarsh shocked Telugu audiences by saying that Hindi “Jersey” is not that great at all. He praised Shahid’s body of work but hasn’t appreciated the total outcome on a whole as it lacks gripping elements. Similarly, another noted critic Anupama Chopra stated that director Gowtham translated his Telugu version into Hindi by canning every scene in almost the same way. She added that the filmmaker hasn’t improvised the show like how Sandeep Reddy Vanga did with Arjun Reddy’s Hindi version.
With these two critics opining that Shahid’s Jersey will be a passable affair only if the viewers haven’t seen the Telugu original, it is coming out clearly that Hindi Jersey will not be able to beat Telugu Jersey in terms of craze. Amidst these reviews, Hindi Jersey is facing mighty KGF2 and RRR at the box office, thus any slight below-average talk will kick out the film from theatres very rapidly.
However, Bollywood box office experts are saying that everyone should actually wait for the review that will be given by audience, as the very same critics haven’t come praising for a few big films in recent times, while those films did superbly at the box office.
