And now, he has purchased Volvo XC 40 which belongs to the same segment again and costs nearly ₹ 45 lakhs on the road. One wonders why a director of Rajamouli’s stature is using these entry-level premium cars which are even bought by many corporate employees as well.
Usually, two film old directors and heroes who score some initial success immediately end up buying a Range Rover Sport that costs nearly ₹ 1.5 crores. And super successful directors like Shankar and other big directors from Bollywood do use cars like Rolls Royce Phantom and Bentley which cost somewhere between ₹ 4-8 crores. With Rajamouli’s earnings from RRR alone standing up at more than ₹ 100+ crores, one wonders why he is buying only these small cars.
Well, a car is a car, no matter what. And legends like Rajamouli like simplicity and also small sized cars are easy to maneuver in high-traffic cities like Hyderabad.
