The effect of South Indian films’ success in North India is clearly seen in Hindi movie promotions. People are only encouraging films like KGF 2, RRR, and Pushpa and are not in a mood to watch remake flicks of Bollywood.
In the recent past, the Hindi film industry witnessed two disasters, in the form of Bachchan Pandey and Jersey. Both films are remakes and both ended up as disasters.
Meanwhile, two straight films are gearing up for release tomorrow. They are Ajay Devgn’s Runway 34 and Tiger Shroff’s Heropanti 2. The former is a slick action thriller while the latter is an over-the-top action drama.
Both these films have zero buzz ahead of their release. North Indians are still watching RRR and KGF 2 in theatres. Last week, Jersey was released amid the zero buzz and ended up as a failure.
Now, it is being heard that these two flicks may also face a similar fate because of the poor trailers and low pre-release buzz.
If this is the case, then Bollywood needs something like KGF 2 or RRR to revive its glory at the theatres.
