Director Koratala Siva attained stardom by scoring four back-to-back hits. He announced his fifth film Acharya with Megastar Chiranjeevi way back in 2019. But he had been working on it since 2018. After more than four years, the film has finally hit the screens today.
Koratala had a huge pressure while doing the project. First of all, this is the first film in which Chiru and Ram Charan share screen space in full-length roles. Thus, there was a huge hype around it. Koratala had to live up to the expectations.
While the film was in production, he had to face hurdles in the form of COVID-19 and the subsequent lockdowns.
Meanwhile, it was announced that Kajal Aggarwal will play the female lead in the movie. She also participated in the shoot for a few days.
However, her character was cut in the final version. During the last two years, Acharya underwent major changes in both production and post-production works. It has been a hectic task for Koratala.
Finally, Koratala got freedom from all tensions today. Acharya has been released across the globe. Keeping its result aside, Koratala can now take a break and focus on his next project with NTR after a few weeks.
Acharya was released today and opened to negative reviews across the world.
