When some films click, people immediately come to a conclusion that the foot-tapping songs and the glamour treat offered by the heroine or item girl have played a key role in the success. But in recent times, with OTT platforms showcasing more than what we call a glamour treat, the theatrical audiences are not getting interested in such treats it looks like.
In recent times, the likes of Jacqueline Fernandez have poured in glamour in a couple of movies, while other Bollywood films do have it a lot. And other day’s Heropanti 2 also showcased Disha Patani flaunting hefty glamour, but such ravishing treats haven’t worked in theatres, though those pictures are getting heavy likes and hearts on Instagram. Guess what, the blockbusters like RRR, The Kashmir Files and KGF: Chapter 2 don’t have at least one character flaunting glamour.
Even though KGF 1 had two item numbers, one featuring Mouni Roy and other one having Tamanna, in the second part there are no such glamorous treats. Rajamouli is known for item numbers but his leading actress is also not made to pour glamour in RRR. And the case of The Kashmir Files is entirely different. Guess what, even though Alia Bhatt’s Gangubhai deals with the life and times of a prostitute and a red light area, there is not a single love-making or forced bed scene in the film. But still, it worked.
Looks like the mindset of film lovers and the general audience has changed big times in recent times, isn’t it?
