Editor Tammiraju started his journey as an Avid editor at RFC, then he joined Prasad Labs where he worked for nearly 14 years. He has been travelling with Anil Ravipudi from the director’s first movie Pataas. The editor who’s working on F3 revealed interesting facts about editing and F3.
How many movies you worked so far and what changes you saw all these years?
As an editor, I worked for nearly 30 movies. I didn’t see many changes in the editing, though the perspective of audience has been changed.
Tell us about your association with director Anil Ravipudi?
Pataas was my first movie with Anil Ravipudi and we are continuing our association. I was the editor for F2 as well. After watching rushes of Pataas, I wanted to cut it in a different pattern. I also wanted second half of the movie will be sharp.
How different is F3 from F2?
F2 was about marriages and the issues between newly-wed couple. F3 revolves around money. It designates the influence of money on human relations. F3 is a franchise. The characters follow from F2, but the story is completely different. F3 will be double the fun that of F2. The film also gives a good message on the impact of money. It will definitely be a blockbuster.
How difficult it was to trim comedy scenes in a film?
It was tough for us to trim comedy scenes. Editors don’t take budget into consideration. If a scene was made with lavish budget, we remove or trim it, if we feel, it will create some disturbance in the flow. Our intention is to make the story-telling engaging.
Do you give any suggestions to your directors?
It’s we editors who first watch rushes, and if needed we give suggestions.
What is the final runtime of the movie?
The final runtime isn’t yet locked, but it will be around 2:30 hours.
The most challenging project you worked so far?
I worked as associate editor for Mirchi. It was very challenging. As an editor, Pataas was the most challenging project.
Tell us about Venkatesh and Varun Tej’s performance in the movie?
Venkatesh and Varun Tej took the movie to another level with their wonderful performances.
Will there be F4 from the same team?
I hope, there will be F4. In fact, many movies should come from the franchise.
What are your next projects?
I’m doing Bimbisara with Kalyan Ram under NTR Arts. I have Kalyan Ram’s other movie under Mythri Movie Makers banner. I’m also doing Naga Shaurya’s Krishna Vrinda Vihari.
