With no takers for theatrical release and with the gory content of the film that is not sure of a Censor certificate, the makers of Keerthy Suresh’s latest movie “Chinni” have released it directly on Amazon Prime Video. With debacles like Penguin, Miss India and Gudluck Sakhi in her belly, surely there are no hopes on this movie. But then, she made her fans raise their collars.
“Chinni” is the story of a police constable whose husband and daughter were burnt alive, and she gets raped by four influential persons of their village. How she takes revenge on them, by killing all of them, forms the rest of the story. Definitely, it is Keerthy Suresh’s show all over as she has stunned everyone with her terrific makeover as a village woman. And her acting prowess is top notch this time as she shows pain, agony and thirst for blood all in the same frame, all the time. Added with some stunning visuals, the film is a treat for her fans, due to her power-packed performance.
Though Keerthy rocked it quite well, somehow the story lacks the emotional connect with the audience as the lead actress pulls all the murders as effortlessly as possible. Though Selvaraghavan’s performance is also terrific, somehow that role also failed to create empathy while the climax twist brought a tear shed moment. But the bloodshed shown throughout the film might not appeal to all sections of the society.
