The infighting among the Gannavaram YCP leaders has reached a peak, drawing the attention of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy.
The CMO reportedly called up Gannavaram MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi, YCP leader Yarlagadda Venkateswara Rao to iron out the differences between them. Reportedly, YCP senior leaders would hold discussion with both the leaders tomorrow.
Meanwhile, there is one other senior leader from the party, Dutta Ramachandra Rao, who is opposing both Vallabhaneni and Yarlagadda. Dutta is a close friend of Jagan’s family. He had been a very good friend of Jagan’s father and former CM late Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. Jagan reportedly promised MLC seat to Dutta but could not fulfil it.
Vallabhaneni was pulled into the YCP from TDP while Yarlagadda was defeated by the same Vallabhaneni during the last elections. It is being said that Jagan picked Vallabhaneni from the TDP with an intention to secure the votes of the specific community, which he is said to be targeting.
Apparently, the trio have been vying for the YCP ticket from Gannavaram for the next Assembly polls. Accordingly, they have taken up separate campaign programmes of ‘Gadapa Gadapaku Mana Prabhutvam’. There is talk that the party ticket would be given to the leader heading the ‘Gadapa Gadapaku’ and Vamsi is actively participating in it. Does that mean Vamsi would get the YCP ticket from Gannavaram next time?
There are reports that the YCP leadership had promised the party ticket to Vamsi, which is leading to dissent among the remaining two leaders and their followers.
