Major’s Life Has Many Commercial Heroism Elements: Sobhita

Published by

Telugu lady Sobhita Dhulipala who is out of action in Telugu, after Goodhachari, is back with Adivi Sesh’s upcoming flick Major. Directed by Sashi Kiran Tikka, the film will be gracing the cinemas on June 3rd. The actress during her media interaction revealed some interesting aspects about Major.

Sobhita informs Adivi Sesh has been doing research on the life of Major Sandeep Unnikrishnan for long time. “Sesh used to tell interesting facets about Major’s life. I’m indeed first audience for this story.”

Disclosing more about her role in the movie, the actress says, “I will appear as Pramoda in Major. “The film shows Sandeep’s life on one side and the 26/11 attacks and the Taj Mahal incident on the other side. I will be seen as a hostage in the 26/11 attacks. My role has different characteristic. It’s a very weighty character with lots of emotions. I portrayed this character with lots of responsibility.”

Sobhita says one doesn’t need homework to play real life characters, as there will be no references. “I wanted to bring respect to the character.”

She says Major’s life has many commercial heroism elements. “Many girls had a crush on Sandeep. He likes movies. He once gave all his money to a friend and travelled on the train for two days, although he was hungry. There are many such commercial heroism elements in Sandeep’s personal life. A lot of scenes had to be cut, as to make the narrative engaging. Besides showing the tragic incident, the movie also shows Sandeep’s personal life.”

Sobhita calls Sesh a hard-working guy. “One needs not to show their body to appear as an army man. But it’s not an easy task. It’s a delicate and emotional subject for Sandeep’s parents. Sesh’s intention was to make them feel proud, after watching the movie.”

The actress says she feels honour to work under the production of Mahesh Babu. “We had worried lot during covid that, Major would go for OTT release. However, Mahesh Babu was like a backbone for the movie. He assured us that the movie will release only in theatres. His guidance and encouragement instilled in us great confidence.”
