Finally director Hanu Raghavapudi’s much delayed movie “Sitaramam” has announced its release date as August 5th, thus making things clear that the Dulquer Salman and Mrinal Thakur starrer, produced by Ashwini Dutt. And here is why this film’s success is very important to the director and the main heroine of the movie.
While Rashmika Mandanna is playing a key role in the movie, we hear that it is Mrinal Thakur who will be seen throughout the movie as the main character. Coming to this heroine, she has releases like Farhan Akhtar’s Toofan on OTT and Shahid Kapoor’s Jersey in theatres recently, but luck hasn’t favoured her. And the only big film that remained her kitty right now is none other than Sitaramam. Only if this film clicks, then other doors might open for Mrunal. Earlier she was part of Netflix’s Baahubali: Before The Beginning, and that project got scrapped.
Cut to the director, Hanu Raghavapudi proved his mettle with Krishnagadi Veeraprema Gaadha, but though his films like LIE and Padi Padi Leche Manasu got hailed for the visuals and music, they failed to register a win at the box office. This film’s success is very important for Hanu as the director also collected a negative image that his films often cross stipulated budgets and end up as cost failures for producers.
Only if this love story set in 1960s backdrop succeeds, then both Hanu Raghavapudi and Mrinal might fetch a bit in Tollywood, while Dulquer Salman has handful of films already that he would not worry about the fate of this movie.
