Controversial self-declared superstar Kangana Ranaut got the shocker of her life with her movie “Dhaakad” failing to get attention at least in the mass circles. Despite pouring lots of voluptuous glamour as Agent Agni, Kangana has even slipped into lingerie in many scenes of the film, which happens to be an action adventure. However, nothing saved the movie from biting the dust at the box office.
All the distributors who have confidently brought the film after watching the sparkling trailer of it are said to be weeping now. According to trade reports, the film has lost nearly ₹ 70 crores from the theatrical circuits alone. And the latest shocker is that some top OTT platforms are said to have refused to buy the film. Though OTT platforms like Amazon, Netflix and Disney+Hotsar usually buy flop films too by offering some staggering amounts, one wonders why none has come forward to take up Dhaakad.
As we know that these types of sales deals are usually closed before the release of a film itself, but a greedy Kangana is said to have stopped the producer from selling the digital streaming rights as she expected that selling them after a ‘blockbuster’ success would fetch her more share. But it looks like the plan got boomeranged. Some middlemen are said to be trying to bring Dhaakad on a big OTT soon anyway, but the sale price will be literally peanuts they say.
