For the remakes of those films that have hero-centric stories, Telugu industry always puts its best foot forward. Whether it is Pawan Kalyan’s Bheemla Nayak, Chiranjeevi’s Khaidi No 150 or Venkatesh’s Narappa, hero-centric films always get remade fast and heroes are ready to do them. But what about story-centric movies?
Apparently the film “Badhaai Ho” is a runway hit in Bollywood when it was released in 2018. Featuring Ayushman Khurrana in the lead role, the film deals with the story of a guy whose mother gets pregnant which puts the hero’s relationship with his girlfriend in jeopardy. Despite the film being a super hit, and Suresh Babu acquiring the Telugu remake rights of it, the film hasn’t got remade till now in Tollywood.
Back then, there was buzz that Naga Chaitanya agreed to star in the remake, but it didn’t work. And then came to Raj Tarun doing it, but that turned out to be another rumor only. Insiders revealed that no Telugu hero is actually coming forward to star in this remake. But now, Boney Kapoor has successfully remade in Tamil, titled Veetla Vishesham, with RJ Balaji as the lead and Urvashi, and Satya Raj as his parents. The film is co-directed by RJ Balaji along with NJ Saravanan.
When Tamil folks are picking up these good films to be remade in Kollywood, many wonder why Telugu heroes are not ready to do them.
