While Harish Shankar calls himself Pawan Kalyan’s fan, saying that it is that fanism that led him to deliver a blockbuster like Gabbar Singh with his favourite hero, recently the likes of Parasuram called himself Mahesh fan during Sarkaaru Vaari Paata promotions, and young director Venky Kudumula calls himself Mega fan and finally that tag helped him bag a chance to direct none other than Chiranjeevi.
Other day, Venky Kudumula interviewed Universal Hero Kamal Hassan on the eve of the former’s “Vikram” hitting cinemas this Friday. During that time, Venky Kudumula asked Kamal how Lokesh Kanagaraj made the film with him as the director called himself a fan of Kamal Hassan many times. And Venky also revealed that as a fan he is also happy to direct Megastar Chiru now.
“Being a die-hard fan won’t be enough to make a movie. First, you have to look at your superstar’s filmography too to understand how their hit films actually come up. You’ve to study what Balachander and Raghavendra Rao did, and then do something better than that” said Kamal, explaining that being a hero’s fan won’t be enough for a director but studying the hero’s track record and directing the right film is important.
Well, that’s the advise for many young director who call themselves as fans of a particular superstar and goes on to bag their movies.
