After A Long Time Nani Showed Some Sensibility

Published by

One of the finest acting heroes we have right now in Telugu is none other than Nani but then the talented star is not living up to his potential in recent times. While big stars like Charan, Tarak, and others are picking up performance oriented films rather than just commercial movies, Nani picked only commercial films for some time.

Back-to-back movies like Tuck Jagadish and V have offered nothing new from Nani, and his massy acts, as well as commercial-masala heroism, didn’t work as the films were released on OTT platforms. And now, he is coming up with “Ante Sundariniki” under the direction of Vivek Athreya and the film happens to be a comic caper if the recently released trailer is anything to go by.

Rather than picking up routine comedy fares, this film of Nani has to offer something different as it is dealing with the sensible theme of inter-religious marriage. We have seen films like Mani Ratnam’s Bombay where a Hindu-Muslim love story is dealt with quite reality. And now, a Hindu-Christian relationship is being explored by Nani and Nazriya in Ante Sundaraniki, thereby dealing with one of the society’s biggest problems.

At a time we are witnessing how couples are getting killed for inter-faith and inter-religious marriages in the name of honor killings, exploring this theme in a lighter vein yet sensible way is so important to educate the people. In the name of entertainment, surely Nani has picked up a socially responsible film and that is now winning accolades for him. Definitely, we must say, Nani, picked up a sensible film after a long time.
