Natural Star Nani and Nazriya Nazim starrer Ante Sundaraniki is all set for release on 10th of this month. Ahead of the release, Nazriya who is debuting in Tollywood with this Vivek Athreya directorial took part in Q&A session with media.
Why did it take such long time for you to make debut in Telugu?
Seriously, I didn’t plan anything. However, it’s true that, I’m very particular about stories of my movies. But it’s not true that I rejected many stories. I got excited when I heard Ante Sundaraniki’s story.
What really excited you?
I don’t think about language, while listening to a story. I listen like a normal movie buff. I felt the story is wonderful. It equally has entertainment and emotion. We rarely get to see both the things in a movie. Ante Sundaraniki’s story is very unique.
Why did you take break from movies?
I started my career as a child artist. I worked for TV as well. After doing back to back movies for two years, I got married. I thought of taking break, as I like to stay at home, travel, and doing house chores. But Fahadh used to tell me that why aren’t you listening to stories. He’s more excited than me to see me back on screen. However, I mostly got the roles which I already tried. I don’t feel excitement, playing a similar role.
How’s the dance experience for Ante Sundaraniki?
I act like I’m dancing, but the fact is I’m not a good dancer. Nani dances well. Both Nani and Vivek Athreya used to encourage me. I really worked hard for the dances.
What were the challenges in Leela Thomas character?
The character Leela Thomas has numerous layers. Although she has any griefs, she makes sure not to exhibit the pain. The character Leela Thomas bears no resemblance to Nazriya.
How’s it working with Nani?
Nani is a great co-ster. We became good friends in the journey of ‘Ante Sundaraniki’. Nani does not have the feeling that he’s a big star. He’s very supportive and took a lot of care about me. Nani was the first person to contact me for this project. He said, “Listen to the story. Take your time, but don’t say no.”. Nani is a very honest actor. Also working with Naresh and Nadhia is a great experience. I learned a lot from them.
Does an actor in you feel jealous about your husband Fahadh Faasil who’s been doing variety of roles?
Not at all. I love him. There’s nothing bigger than love.
Did you and Fahadh planned to make entry in Telugu at the same time?
No, we should see in this way that it’s the plan of Mythri Movie Makers (laughs). Firstly, I signed Ante Sundaraniki. Pushpa came later to him. The producers of Mythri Movie Makers are very passionate. I felt contented to work under the prestigious production house like Mythri Movie Makers.
How’s it working with Vivek Athreya?
Vivek is a very honest director. I’ll give open dates, if I get to work again with him. His writing is awesome. Looking forward to doing another movie with Vivek.
Did you feel challenging to work in Telugu?
It’s definitely a challenge, when learning a new language. I had a complete script, before we started the shoot. I learnt dialogues of other actors as well. I learnt the meaning of every dialogue. Since I prepared well in advance, shooting for the movie became easy for me.
Why did you dub for your very first Telugu movie?
I am very particular about dubbing. I don’t think my work is done, after shooting was wrapped up. I feel completeness only when we dub for the scenes enacted. I prefer own dubbing in every language I do.
Was that promo song included for you?
It was for Leela Thomas (laughs). The shooting took place with positive vibes. The same vibe was shared with audience with the promo song.
What’s your opinion on inter-caste and inter-religious marriages?
I believe that love is the greatest of all. The problems in inter-caste and inter-religious marriages still exists. I wish children of this generation would not have this problem. So many people after Corona, realized that life is too short and there is no point in being stubborn on such matters. It is important to be happy in life.
Whom do you wish to work with in Telugu?
I’ve very selfish as an actor. I wish to share screen space with Ram Charan, NTR and Mahesh Babu. I also like Satya Dev’s acting. Every actor has their own unique style.
Did you sign any new movies?
I’m listening to few stories. I haven’t yet signed my next.
