Nani’s latest film “Ante Sundariniki” got good reviews from all the quarters and mainly the simplicity of the characters and the realistic portrayal of Hindu and Christian families without outraging any religious views is getting appreciated. And there is one more beautiful thing about the movie that deserves a pat.
Usually, in many films that dealt with the inter-religious theme, in the end, they try to get preachy and teach everyone that all religions are equal. But here, problems in both Hindu practitioners and Christians are shown by portraying two characters with huge religious beliefs, and their own journey is interesting.
Director Vivek Athreya never portrays anything in a harsh manner though there are cliches, but then, he never gets preachy too. That’s a beautiful thing people from these two religions could easily connect to, and it might work big time in the long run.
Also, Ante Sundaraniki deals with the parenting issues too and how kids grow into different personalities based on the decisions their parents will take. THough a simple romantic comedy on the outside, the film has good depth and a sense of philosophy too.
