Nani’s latest outing Ante Sundaraniki received positive reviews and the movie has done well in its first weekend. However, the collections are bit low compared to the box office numbers of Nani’s previous movies. Nani, during, success celebration of the movie stated Ante Sundaraniki is a kind of film which may not have huge openings, but will have long run.
“You might have your own doubts we celebrating it as a blockbuster event. We’re celebrating not the box office numbers, but the hearts. We’re celebrating the love and the enjoyment of the audience. In fact, we rarely get to see good movies like Ante Sundaraniki which break the regular commercial movies pattern and bring new flavour to audience. Only time will say whether it’s a blockbuster or not. You shouldn’t compare collections of this movie with other commercial movies.
My personal request to media friends- not every film will have the collections in the range of mass movies. It’s the film that is need to be celebrated. Let’s leave the box office numbers to audience. The messages I’ve been getting made me feel happy. It’s another feather in my hat. Ante Sundaraniki will remain to be one of the most memorable films in my career. When we have safe roots, it needs guts to tell this story. My director and producers have the guts. I too have the guts.”
Director Vivek Athreya also opined that Ante Sundaraniki will amuse the audience more in second or third-time watch. He also stated The film needs to be told in the length.
“I give half of the success credit to producers. If the producers hadn’t accepted the story, the movie wouldn’t have been made. Ante Sundaraniki will be remembered for long. It’s tough to play the character Leela. Nazriya made it look easy. Nani played a character that has many layers. It’s not a cakewalk. But he played it seamlessly.”
