Bollywood hero Akshay Kumar’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’ trailer is dropped and the first watch takes you for an emotional ride. Going by the title, it is a tale of a brother and sisters. Akshay plays a pani-puri vendor and shoulders the responsibility of his four sisters.
But to get them married, Akshay struggles a lot and on the other side, his childhood sweetheart played by Bhumi Pednekar waits for him to get done with his responsibilities. But Akshay runs out of time and has just six months, else he could lose Bhumi.
How this conflict is dealt with forms ‘Raksha Bandhan.’ This is a story of every household and connects well with a large section of audiences.
Akshay delivers a subtle touching performance and yet again his choice of scripts is something that should be appreciated. He experiments with genres constantly and makes them believable.
Aanand L Rai has directed ‘Raksha Bandhan’ and will have a box office clash with Aamir Khan’s ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ for this Independence Day.
