Vikram Vs 2.0 – Why Did This Debate Start?

Published by

Already we have discussed the box office figures of both “Vikram” and “2.0”, and how the Kamal Haasan starrer fared at the box office compared to Rajnikanth’s massive movie that reaped huge collections. Keeping that aside, one would surely wonder why this debate has started in the first place. And here’s an interesting find.

Frankly speaking, Kamal Haasan’s fans are silent from a long time as their favourite hero is scoring only flops back to back though he is coming up with content that is very interesting.

Now that he has scored an epic blockbuster with Vikram, his fans are back, raising their collars. Everyone knows the rivalry between the fans of Kamal and Rajni when the former is on the top of his game in Tamilnadu long back. And rivalry has come out through social media yet again.

With Kamal never doing massy movies and Rajni always doing whistle-blasting oora mass films, slowly Kamal lost his sheen during the 90s and 2000s, while Rajni went on to become the Superstar of ‘God’ level. Kamal’s films are always content-centric as he has done movies like Bharateeyudu, Bhamane Satyabhamane, Abhay and others back then, while Rajni always targeted B&C centres with movies like Basha, Muthu and Arunachalam around the same time. No doubt, Kamal is a terrific actor while Rajni mainly depends on stylish screen presence, and that pushed Kamal backward.

Finally, Kamal also chose to do a massy film through Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Vikram, he’s back to the top form at 67 years of age and that’s what is leading to these fan wars.

Frankly speaking, these days Rajni’s films are also not working out at the box office, while Kamal should make sure his Vikram will be followed by a couple of hits again. One thing however, both Kamal and Rajni are still enchanting the audience at such old age, and youngster should take a cue from that.
