Two Big Producers Put Down Their OTT Plans

Published by

When ace producer Allu Arvind started “Aha”, many thought that his other big friends from the industry would join him. However, his other big friends have found some separate routes and opened a few software offices too. So, what happened to all those plans? Are they really going ahead with that plan?

Back then, when Arvind created Aha, teaming up with My Home group, many thought that even Dil Raju and Suresh Babu, who are his good friends and business partners in some entities, will join the mega clan. However, Suresh Babu is said to have planned to create his own OTT app as he is also having good content produced by Ramanaidu studios in hand. Compared to Geetha Arts, Ramanaidu Studios will have a huge number of films in their kitty.

At the same time, Dil Raju is said to have thought of creating his own venture and groundwork is also done for some time. Even a software application for the proposed app, based on the architecture of an already developed European OTT app, was acquired at a terrific price if reports are to be believed. But then, with films doing good at the box office again, both Suresh Babu and Dil Raju are said to have dropped their plans.

Also, these two big producers have come to an understanding that to continuously produce content and deliver a new movie or web series each week like Netflix is not an easy task. Even if they have to deliver something like Amazon Prime, that is completely out of reach for both investment and creative workforce wise. For all these reasons, they are said to have dropped the plans now.
