Director Sarath Mandava, initially, thought of the title ‘Government On Duty’ for his movie with Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja. But upon DOP Sathyan Sooryan’s suggestion, he considered Ramarao On Duty as the title and hero Ravi Teja too accepted to it right away. In fact, Ramarao On Duty sounds more powerful than Government On Duty.
Another revelation is Sumanth was the original choice to play CI Murali and the director Sarath Mandava even approached the actor. However, as Sumanth was busy with some other project, he couldn’t do Ramarao On Duty. The makers who wanted to start the project immediately then had to look for other options.
Venu Thottempudi was the second option and the actor didn’t even show any interest even to listen to the story, because of his busy schedules and moreover he’s not interested to comeback to movies.
However, director Sarath Mandava tried his best to convince Venu to listen to the story. After listening to the story, Venu accepted to do the movie. Nonetheless, he asked his director whether they will include all his scenes in the final version, or cut short his portions. Sarath promised him not to remove even a single scene of him.
The film produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri under SLV Cinemas is set for release on 29th of this month.
