At the date announcement press meet of Nagarjuna’s “The Ghost” today, the Akkineni superstar made some interesting revelations. With media pressing him to say whether he found out which role will work for him or which will not, for the decades of experience he has in the film industry, the senior star says, ‘not yet’.
“Not just me, anyone from the film industry can’t say which film gets accepted and which doesn’t. we don’t know about it. Not just me, none loves about it. Some films and roles, which both filmmakers and media folks praised a lot when the trailer is out, haven’t done well at the box office. Some heroes who were written off by journalists became superstars” said Nagarjuna, staying grounded to reality as he speaks about a film’s fate at the box office.
He further added, “The very same director like Ram Gopal Varma who has given him Siva has given me Officer too. After making a blockbuster like Ninne Pelladutha with me, Krishna Vamsi’s Chandralekha sent us home. At the same time, I used to advise Raghavendra Rao garu to stop making Annamayya movie with me, and I never thought that film would work after Ninne Pelladutha, but the result was the best in my career. If I know what films to do, surely I would do only hit movies like Siva and Annamayya all the time”.
Well, Nagarjuna bottom-lined that films made with good intent will work at the box office, and yes, they do.
