Raviteja’s Rama Rao On Duty is supposed to be a thriller with some commercial elements. Unfortunately, it serves nothing but a routine story and narrative.
The first half is mostly establishment but it takes more than an hour to get into actual plot. The story is all about a Deputy collector trying to find around two dozens of missing persons. With an forced item song and an unnecessary song from the flash back, the flat first half is dragged.
The second half is expected to have an intriguing theory and investigation drama. But it also failed miseably with the routine and boring narration. The twists are much predictable and so is the whole plot.
Raviteja is his usual self. Venu Thottempudi completely disappoints with his character. It is not funny, instead it is completely boring.
It is high time that the makers need to quit the formula of three songs and so-called action blocks in the name of ‘commercial potboilers’. A disappointing duty by Rama Rao.
