Despite the fact that Vijay Devarkonda is her co-star in the upcoming film “Liger”, it looks like heroine Ananya Panday doesn’t want to mince her words when it comes to sharing her opinion on the film “Arjun Reddy”. Like all the feminists out there, she too slapped the film for showcasing toxic masculinity.
In the latest episode of “Koffee With Karan”, host Karan Johar asked Vijay Devarakonda about the criticism he has faced for slapping Preethi in the film Arjun Reddy.
Vijay said, “If I don’t empathize with the character I’m doing, I cannot play it. So I agree with whatever Arjun Reddy has done”. That’s more from an actor’s point of view but what about the influence it will yield on society? That’s what Ananya Panday pointed out.
Apparently, Ananya stated that “Arjun Reddy” is a film that could misguide the youth in the wrong direction by normalizing the thing that a guy could slap his girlfriend if needed. “I cannot accept Arjun Reddy because it will affect the whole thought process and people might get inspired by it”.
Her strong opinion shared on Koffee With Karan’s latest episode is currently trending across the nation, as she did it with the film’s leading hero by her side on the couch.
Though Karan Johar tried to cover up that many women loved Arjun Reddy role and they wanted a boyfriend like Arjun Reddy in real life for the kind of protectiveness he has shown, Ananya didn’t change her opinion. That’s why it is going viral now.
