Nikhil Siddharth and Anupama Parameswaran played the lead roles in the upcoming Telugu film Karthikeya 2. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film is scheduled for a grand release on August 12th. Now, we hear that the film is getting postponed to August 13th.
Already, Nikhil Siddharth, in his recent media interaction, revealed that he was forced to postpone the film’s release from July 22nd to August 12th. Now, he is reportedly forced to postpone the film’s release by one day.
Nithiin’s Macharla Niyojakavargam is scheduled for a grand release on August 12th. Reportedly, there is pressure on Nikhil and his team that the clash of two films on the same day is not healthy at the box office.
If the movie releases on the 12th, it will have the advantage of three days (Saturday, Sunday, and Monday being Independence day). With Nikhil arriving to the screens with Karthikeya 2 with a delay of one day, the advantage is coming down to two days.
On one side, the debate that two films with noted heroes releasing on the same day not going to be healthy carry a valid point. But, on the other hand, positive word of mouth can help the film mint more revenue on holiday.
As of now, there is no official clarity from team Karthikeya 2 about the release date.
