Sita Ramam is one of the upcoming Telugu films, carrying a positive buzz. Directed by Hanu Raghavapudi, the film features Dulquer Salmaan and Mrunal Thakur in the lead roles. The film is scheduled for a grand release worldwide tomorrow. But, there seems to be a hurdle to the film’s release in the Gulf countries.
The censor board in the Gulf countries is very strict. The board denies censoring the film having scenes about religion. The reports say that Sita Ramam carries some scenes about religion and the censor board rejected the film. The country is against any film that carries scenes that may hurt the religious sentiments of their people.
However, the sources close to the movie unit say that the makers are re-applying for the censor.
If the film gets declined again, the film will not be released in countries like Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and UAE. Dulquer Salmaan holds a big market in the Gulf countries, and the halt of the film’s release means a big loss to the distributors.
Vyjayanthi Movies is bankrolling the film.
