With four holidays in a row, Bollywood folks have thought that despite getting average to below average talk, both the films, Aamir Khan’s Laal Singh Chaddha and Akshay Kumar’s Rakshabandan will make it big at the box office. In these circumstances, the collection on Day 2 and 3 should be higher than that of Day 1, but it looks like something is damaging Hindi movies big time.
Whether the Hindi audience has decided to take up the Boycott call given by some right-wing activists who were upset with comments of Aamir Khan that he made years ago, the collections of Laal Singh Chaddha were just ₹7+ crores nett on Friday while the film collected ₹11+ crores on Day 1. Similarly, Rakshabandan is no exception as the film made ₹8+ crores on Day 1, while it dropped to ₹6+ crores on Day 2. Usually, the second day should be higher because Friday is Raksha Bandan holiday across the nation. What about 3rd day anyway?
According to preliminary reports, the third day is also similar to the second only and there is no big respite as the talk is already out that the films are slow and boring with their narrative. For some reason, both the biggest stars of Bollywood have failed to create any impact and two small Telugu films like Bimbisara and Karthikeya 2 in comparison to Aamir and Akshay’s star power might end collecting more than those movies.
