Actor Madhavan turned director and producer with the film ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect.’ It was a film Madhavan made with extreme passion after learning about the great scientist Nambi Narayanan who was falsely implicated in an espionage case in the year 1994.
‘Rocketry’ had a screening at Cannes this year and on July 1st, the film had a theatrical release. Though it was a limited release owing to the subject, Madhavan received rave appreciation for his performance and direction.
Made with a budget of Rs 25 crore, there were reports that Madhavan had sold his house for the making. However these reports were unconfirmed and surfaced on social media. Finally it reached Madhavan and he settled them once and for all.
“Oh Yaar. Pls don’t over patronize my sacrifice. I did not lose my house or anything. In fact all involved in Rocketry will be very proudly paying heavy Income Tax this year. God’s grace,” tweeted Madhavan and disclosed that the film made decent profits and he still lives in the same house.
That’s good to know that Madhavan’s first film as producer and director was a successful one.
