The Telugu Film Industry that stopped the film shootings since August 1st has been brainstorming over some key decisions to save the Telugu cinema and its theatrical business.
As part of it, the Telugu Film Producers union has decided to not to telecast/premiere a film on OTT within 8 weeks of its theatrical release. The Telugu Film Producers Council and the Active Telugu Producers Guild have come together to take these measures. The producers laid out some key rules and regulations.
The ticket prices become a contentious issue. The producers have held talks with the exhibitors including multiplexes, single-screens and seem to have taken a win-win decision which is likely to come out soon.
The final round of meetings among producers is underway and it is likely to be concluded in three to four days. Meanwhile, producers told the media that the decision to restart the film shootings hasn’t been taken yet.
The producers informed the media that the majority of the producers have agreed to the rules laid out by the Producers Union. The key members of Guild stated that Bollywood is keenly watching Tollywood and its decisions to stall the film’s shootings on production costs cut down.
