In recent times, Bollywood has come up with remakes of superhit Telugu films but then none of them have worked at the box office. Akshay Kumar’s Cuttputli, which is the remake of the Telugu film Rakshasudu, is getting released on OTT directly. Many are wondering why remakes are becoming trouble now though they are considered to be sure shot blockbusters earlier.
In recent times, the remakes of both Jersey and HIT, which are directed by the original version directors of the films, haven’t done well. At the same time, MCA remake Nikkama too failed to hit the chord.
And now that Akshay’s Cuttputli is also going to OTT directly, it has to be seen how it performs. Only Sandeep Reddy Vanga managed to score a big success with Kabir Singh while others are failing to score.
That brings us to the question, how did Sandeep Reddy Vanga succeed so well in Bollywood that he is directing ‘Animal’ with Ranbir Kapoor now, and even has Prabhas’ Spirit in the lineup? They say that this director infused soul in Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh as the script happens to be a story of a real character. With a huge conviction on his side, he’s able to work it out big in Bollywood too, while others failed to repeat the charm.
