The trailer of PS1 was released the other day at a grand event. The star cast, the grandeur, AR Rahman’s music, and the maker Mani Ratnam himself are the biggest assets of the movie. The expectations on PS1 grew bigger after the trailer release.
The Telugu audience appeared not as excited as the Tamil audience did, but PS1 will have a grand release in Telugu too, thanks to Dil Raju. Though everything seems to be in favor of PS1, there are multiple tensions heading towards it.
Bollywood movie Vikram Vedha, which has Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan in lead roles is releasing on the same day as PS1. Though it is a South film remake, Vikram Vedha has its own advantages. The movie has Hrithik Roshan coming after three years of break and it also is doing good business in the North already. In Telugu states also, Vikram Vedha is heard to be getting a huge number of multiplex screens. The nativity issue of PS1 might become its drawback in areas like Pune, Mumbai, and Delhi.
The famous star cast including Aishwarya Rai is the selling point of PS1 in the North, but still, Vikram Vedha has an upper hand.
Apart from this, Dhanush’s Nane Varuven is planning for a release on the same day as PS1. Dhanush’s recent film Thiru emerged as a blockbuster with more than 100 cr collections and the team is moving pawns to cash that craze of Thiru. Nane Varuven’s director Selva Raghavan has a separate fan base all over and it also might break the speed of PS1.
PS1 has to garner blockbuster talk or else the following week’s releases Godfather and The Ghost will take over the spotlight. So, PS1 has no competition in the budget, but the film with content is gearing up to lock the horns.
