Back in the day, there used to be some films whose dubbed version would never release because a local producer would have got the remake and dubbing rights. That’s the same reason why “Vikram Vedha” was never dubbed into Telugu and the remake failed to take off, while the Hindi version is releasing towards this month’s end.
Reports are now coming that young hero Siddhu Jonnalagadda has badly tried to get the remake rights of one Malayalam film, on whom even Vishwak Sen also laid his eyes. This is regarding the latest movie Tovino Thomas’ “Thallumala” which has a simple storyline but unique editing and narrative style making it a super successful film at the box office. And here is what happened.
With Tovino Thomas films clicking great on Netflix, the streaming site is said to have offered huge amounts to the makers to release the movie on their platform in all the possible languages. With Telugu producers sent by these heroes still negotiating some peanuts like figures to own the rights, the makers of Mallu movie are said to have given a go to Netflix. The streaming site released Thallumalla in Telugu, Kannada and Tamil other day without any delay.
More than anyone, the two Telugu heroes are said to be feeling aghast by the shock given by Netflix. Well, these days any deal should be made aggressively in a short period of time.
