Sudheer Babu joined hands with Indraganti Mohan Krishna for the third time after Sammohanam and V. The movie Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali was released today in theaters, Here is the first report from the US premieres.
The concept of films and filmmaking within the film is not a new plot. Even Indraganti did it in his Sammohanam. Now Aa Ammayi has a similar plot, but with a flat narration and a few emotional scenes.
The first half of Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali takes a long time to establish the actual plot. The lack of highlights or entertaining scenes in the first half sticks out like a sore thumb. Vennela Kishore’s one-liners work in parts. The pre-interval twist is good.
The second half is heavier but better than the first. Although it runs at a good pace, most of it is predictable and bland. Except for the emotional scenes in the climax, the second half of Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali is also dull.
Sudheer Babu and Krithi Shetty performed well. The background music is good. The dialogues are good.
Overall, Aa Ammayi Gurinchi Meeku Cheppali has a thin plot with a dim narration. The interval twist and the final emotional episode are good while everything else makes it pretty much an ordinary movie.
