Producer KK Radhamohan is making back-to-back movies. In the last three years, he produced Orey Bujjiga, and Odela Railway Station, whereas his latest production venture Crazy Fellow starring Aadi Saikumar is due for release on the 14th of this month. The producer had chit-chat session with media, ahead of the film’s release.
Do you think it’s the right time for the release of Crazy Fellow?
Many films which were postponed due to covid were released in the last three months. We thought of releasing Crazy Fellow in September. But many movies are lined up. Then, October 14th seemed to be a good date. But now it is a big challenge to bring the audience to the theatres. Crazy Fellow is a family entertainer. The trailer and teaser got a good response. We are doing various promotional activities.
What do you like about the story?
The story of Crazy Fellow is very intriguing. I strongly believe in the story. Debutant director Phani Krishna has done a good job in making the movie entertainingly. Adi’s look is different and fresh. There is a lot of curiosity in the story. Youth, and families too will equally love the movie.”
Has the audience’s thinking changed after covid?
Audiences are habituated to watching content on OTT. International content is available on different platforms. Our biggest challenge is to meet the expectations of the audience.
What do you say about the increase in revenue options?
The revenue options have increased because of satellite, and OTT. But producers are not really pocketing profits. Expenses are also increasing along with income. Once the cost of a day’s shooting was 3 lakhs, but now it is 8 lakhs. It is the responsibility of the producer to understand the market and provide adequate resources for the story and be careful about the production. I have shifted from the USA and devoting full time to movies.
What is the movie from your banner that gave you satisfaction?
In terms of story, Adhinetha is a movie that gave me a lot of satisfaction. Yemaindi Ee Vela became a trendsetter. Directors like Maruti said that they made films inspired by that movie. I also like the message in the movie Pantham. Ravi Teja’s Bengal Tiger is a commercially successful film. It brought the recognition of being the producer of Bengal Tiger.
About the two heroines in this film?
Both Digangana Suryavanshi and Myrna Menon did very well. This is Mirna Menon’s first Telugu film and there is a surprise element in her character.
