Rishab Shetty is the talk of the nation now. His recent film Kantara went on to become a pan-India success. Apart from acting in it, Rishab also wrote and directed the project.
In a recent interview, he was asked about his plans of making a sequel or prequel to Kantara. Rishab said that there is a lot of scope to make either a sequel or a prequel to Kantara. But he hasn’t thought of it. As of now, he wants to take a break for two months and spend time with his family.
He also revealed that he didn’t have plans to make Kantara as a pan-India film. He initially wanted it to have a direct Kannada release as the content is rooted and regional. He opined that the spirit and energy of the film made it a huge success today.
He also said that these days audiences are looking for new content on OTT platforms and maybe, Kantara is one of the unique content that they are searching for.
Rishab also denied people’s statements of the Kannada film industry got national recognition only after KGF. He stated that the industry was making universal and good films for a long time.
Box Office: Kantara To Beat KGF In Telugu States
“Kantara” has become an epic hit at the Telugu box office too. In just 4 days of release, the film did the unthinkable and trade pundits are now predicting that the movie might surpass the collections of Prashanth Neel’s KGF in the full run.
Kantara has collected a whopping ₹16 crores gross from Andhra Pradesh and Telangana in the first four days of release. It is predicted that the film might go on to collect more than ₹25 crores gross in the long run and that will be bigger than what KGF 1 collected here. KGF 1 reported a closing gross of ₹24 crores gross in Telugu states. On the other hand, Kantara is a super successful venture for distributors, Geetha Arts, after a long time, more than their own production ventures.
