Ilayathalapathy Vijay was supposed to make his debut in Telugu, with a straight film titled Varasudu. But, the film’s director Vamshi Paidipally has given clarity saying that the movie is a proper Tamil film and the Telugu audiences will only get to witness the dubbed version. Meanwhile, the social media is buzzing with comparisons between Varissu and Maharshi.
Earlier, Vijay remade a couple of hit films done by Mahesh Babu in Telugu. Vamshi Paidipally who directed Mahesh Babu in Maharshi is currently directing Varissu. Recently, few pictures from the film have come out on social media.
Going by these pictures, many comparisons are being drawn between Varissu and Maharshi. It also gives us a hint that the film is based on the popular film Largo Winch which was already freeemade in Telugu as Agnyathavaasi and Saaho.
Apart from that, Vijay looks like an ordinary middle class person who will rise to heights in the film. The look, costumes and the styling done to Vijay resembles to that of Mahesh Babu’s character from the film Maharshi.
Jayasudha played Mahesh’s mother in Maharshi and she is essaying Vijay’s mother in Varissu. Even her look and costumes look the same.
Especially, when it is the case of star heroes, a director should be extremely careful with these things. Otherwise, it is difficult to contain the negativity that builds up around a film, before its release.
