Dil Raju is one of the top producers and distributors in Tollywood. Most of the time, the war becomes one-sided whenever he enters the race. But this time, he may land in a trouble. It is because of his upcoming film Varisu aka Vaarasudu.
Directed by Vamshi Paidipally, Varisu features Thalapathy Vijay as the lead hero. It is slated for Pongal 2023 release. However, there are multiple films lined up for release during this season. Even if Dil Raju wants to postpone, he cannot.
Already, it is heard that Ajith’s Thunivu is also gearing up for the Pongal release. So, if Varisu exits the Pongal race, the makers have to face the wrath of the fans. So, the big clash with Ajith is almost confirmed.
The situation is worse in Telugu. Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veeraiah, Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy and Prabhas’s Adipurush are slated for Pongal release as of now. All three are big stars in Tollywood. Allocating theatres for these films will be a big task for buyers and distributors.
So, Vijay’s Varisu will get the least priority as it is a dubbed flick. As of now, there is no buzz for this film is Tollywood.
Even if Dil Raju uses his influence and allocates more theatres for Varisu, people will not show interest in watching it ahead of Prabhas, Chiru and Balayya’s movies. It is heard that Raju is planning to acquire the Nizam rights of any of these films but apparently, the makers need to give positive signals to him.
Thus, it seems that next year’s Pongal is going to be a tough season for Dil Raju.
