A few days ago, Samantha revealed that she has been suffering from an auto-immune medical condition called Myositis. Even though her health condition is not well, Samantha decided to promote her upcoming release Yashoda. The other day, she participated in a promotional interview for the film.
In the interview, Samantha spoke about her health condition and her current mental state. People who watched the interview sympathised with the actress and are praying for her speedy recovery. Meanwhile, will this interview help Yashoda is the big question.
First of all, we have seen quite a few films based around surrogacy in the recent past. So, it is not a unique plot in the first place. Secondly, the trailers and the promotional content are not intriguing as well. If the trailer is engaging enough, there is no need to promote the film further. It can pull the audience. But Yashoda’s trailer is not spell-bounding.
Meanwhile, the surrogacy concept may appeal to the A centre audiences but not to the B and C centre folks. Apart from releasing trailers, the makers aren’t doing anything else in promotions. If they had opted for some unique promotional strategies, they would have helped in gaining some buzz.
Moreover, the film is directed by Tamil directors, who are unknown to the Telugu people. If we take Samantha’s Oh Baby, there was a good pre-release buzz for the film due to the engaging trailer and active promotions. That is missing in Yashoda’s case.
Only Samantha’s stardom and her recent interview can pull the audience to the theatres. Let’s see if these two factors can help the film to do well at the box office.
