Already two big Telugu films, Megastar’s Waltair Veerayya and Balayya’s Veerasimha Reddy have locked horns for Sankranthi. But then, Dil Raju’s Tamil film “Varisu” is getting dubbed as “Varasudu” and he’s said to be allocating a huge number of theatres to that project now. Though there is no real clarity about the allocation of theatres, netizens are right now blasting Dil Raju by presenting him with his old videos.
Back in 2019, when Telugu films like F2, Vinaya Vidhya Rama and NTR Kathanayakudu are releasing for Sankranthi, a distributor alleged that Dil Raju is not giving theatres for Rajnikanth’s Petta, a dubbed film. At that time, Raju smashed the critics with his choice of words. “When three big Telugu films are releasing in Tollywood, how come a dubbing film would get theatres here? If everyone wants only that Sankranthi and Summer date, how could we accommodate movies?”, said Dil Raju, and that video clip is now going viral. But in 2021, when Krack is doing well and films like Ram’s Red, Alludu Adhurs targeted Sankranthi, Dil Raju released dubbed movie “Master”, and got slammed by a few.
Back then, Raju hasn’t faced much criticism because movie-watching hasn’t got revived then, as everyone was doubtful about Covid second wave. Now that theatres are doing good, everyone is wondering why Raju is releasing Varasudu along with Megastar and Balayya’s movies, and that’s why fans of these stars are also targeting Dil Raju big time.
Some folks even remarked that when Telugu hero Sudigali Sudheer’s Galodu is hitting cinemas on Nov 18th, Dil Raju is bringing the Telugu version of runaway Tamil hit “Love Today” here, and is said to be allocating maximum numbers of theatres to that film. Well, we have to see what will Dil Raju says now.
