Superstar Krishna’s demise has pushed everyone into a deep saddened state. As the entire film fraternity is preparing to bid farewell to the legendary actor, we recollect instances where the Superstar was regarded as the gutsy actor, the producer’s hero, and a successful producer in Indian Cinema.
Being born into a farmer family, Krishna was an active & curious kid. He was known for his charm since his school days, and the new craze of cinema hit the villages. After watching ‘Pathala Bhairavi’ he became very much interested in films, and witnessing the respect, following, and recognition of ANR he decided to get into films. Sobhan Babu was the new star during that period, and with this thought, Krishna was a bit cold feet as he wasn’t good with dance. It actually surprised everyone how Krishna could gain such stardom with no background.
A very less known fact was that Krishna is a good businessman. Along with his passion, he had the skill of film business. With his own initial investment, he soon went on to establish his own production house, Padmalaya Studios. His younger brother Adi Seshagiri Rao used to manage the production house. He went on to make more films with smart investments, thereby getting close to the audience. He also made classics like ‘Alluri Setharama Raju’ which turned out to be one of the major classics of Telugu Cinema.
Krishna was also the producer’s hero. When the films faced losses he used to return back his remuneration. He never feared competition, even if it is from the legends & stalwarts greater & bigger than him. One of the classic examples is the infamous ‘Kurukshetra’ adaption, which was already in the making by NTR, ‘Daana Veera Soora Karna’. He didn’t back off on knowing that it was NTR’s ambitious project.
This alone probably just makes us understand how gutsy he was!
We hereby bid farewell to this glorious, eminent, prestigious & most respected stalwart, the Original Superstar of Indian Cinema.
