Nagarjuna Akkineni’s last two films The Ghost and Wild Dog had turned out to be disappointments. Nagarjuna had planned to team up with Godfather director Mohan Raja. But after the film’s result, Nag had dropped his plans.
The latest we hear is that Nagarjuna has signed for a Malayalam remake. Nagarjuna is going to remake period action thriller Porinju Mariam Jose which was released in 2019 and it became super successful. The film ran for 100 days in theatres after Lucifer, Kumbalangi Nights, Uyare and Virus.
Impressed with the film, Nag is doing its remake. This is going to be helmed by writer Prasanna Kumar Bezawada as his directorial debut. Prasanna was the writer and assistant director for Nani’s Nenu Local besides Hello Guru Prema Kosame and Run.
He had also worked for Ravi Teja’s Dhamaka. This high-budget action thriller will be bankrolled by Srinivasaa Chitturi who is currently bankrolling Naga Chaitanya and Venkat Prabhu’s Custody. More details are yet to be made official soon.
