We are just 40 days away from the Sankranthi festive season. The films that will compete in the festive race are almost confirmed. Prabhas-starrer Adipurush was supposed to arrive during Pongal but it got postponed due to the delay in postponed works.
Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Waltair Veerayya and Nandamuri Balakrishna’s Veera Simha Reddy confirmed their berths for the Sankranthi race. Along with these two straight films, we will have dubbed release of Thalapathy Vijay’s Varisu (Vaarasudu in Telugu). We may also have the dubbed release of Ajith’s Thunivu.
According to the industry buzz, producers have given clarity about release dates to all distributors and we hear that even the theatre allocation has also been done for all films. Waltair Veerayya, Veera Simha Reddy and Vaarasudu will get a good amount of theatres in both Telugu states.
The makers planned a day gap between each release. It is heard that Ajith’s Thunivu will hit the screens on January 11. Vaarasudu will get released on January 12. Even Veera Simha Reddy will also be released on the same date. As the former is a dubbed flick, the makers of Veera Simha Reddy aren’t worried about this clash.
Chiru’s Waltair Veerayya will arrive on January 13. Both Waltair Veerayya and Veera Simha Reddy are produced by the same production house, Mythri Movie Makers. Thus, the producers are working towards getting an almost equal number of screens for both films.
These release dates are expected to be announced officially very soon. On the whole, the business deals are release dates are set for Sankranthi and we are going to have a grand festive season in 2023.
