Keeping the ongoing controversy in mind, where a writer is claiming that he has written the story of ‘Acharya’ and Koratala Siva stole it from him, one wonders why only Megastar Chiranjeevi’s films face such accusations. Ever since he made his comeback into the movies again, all the films faced similar stuff.
Firstly, though Khaidi No 150 is a remake of Tamil film Khaththi, a writer claimed that AR Murugadoss stole his story long back and made it in Tamil. And the writer cleverly approached Telugu Film Industry’s Lightmen Union for justice, who have then issued a notice that they won’t attend Chiranjeevi’s film shoot until the issue gets resolved. It was heard that VV Vinayak swung into action and settled the writer for compensation.
Similarly when a film on Uyyalawada Narasimhareddy was being made, while the freedom fighter’s family went to court seeking huge compensation for making the story of their ancestor as a movie. They have asked for royalty and even made Amitabh Bachhan a respondent in the case, but the Court has finally quashed the case.
And now, Acharya issuing is getting spiralled into a major controversy, with one writer Rajesh Manduri claiming that he wrote the original story of Acharya, which got leaked and Koratala Siva weaved into a film for Chiranjeevi. No one knows where this controversy will head, but then, controversy and plagiarism accusations seem to be new normal for Chiranjeevi’s films.
