Avatar: The Way of Water is one of the most exciting films in recent times. Directed by James Cameron, the film was released amidst huge expectations on release day. For the first time, the film was made available in multiple formats in India. However, the film can be declared a disaster in one aspect.
Despite the movie is getting a lot of attention and the critics posting positive reviews, the film is being called a disaster as the 2D version did not yield much revenue so far.
With a lot of multiplexes opting to release the film in the 3D version, the majority of the audiences are showing interest there. The single screens are not ready to elevate the movie watching experience because of the outdated and old 2D format. Only the theatres that got renovated are able to give the best viewing experience.
Avatar: The Way of Water is available to watch in the below formats:
4K/2K, 2D/3D
3 aspect ratios (2.39, 1.85, and 1.90)
24fps and 48fps (HFR)
HDR
Dolby Atmos
The film’s collections in single screens, and the 2D format is very less, say the trade reports. So far, the film collected more than Rs. 100 Cr gross in the first two days. In the full run, the film will definitely earn an amount close to Rs. 250- Rs. 300 Cr rupees gross.
