Despite getting average reviews from the critics, the Global Box Office was stunned by the performance of “Avatar: The Way of Water” aka Avatar 2, and Telugu states have contributed significantly to the film’s phenomenal success though it is not as expected. The James Cameron directed visual spectacle is a treat to watch, and here is how the box office responded.
Apparently the global first weekend collections of Avatar 2 stood at $434 million while India contributed almost $18 million gross in it.
Coming to Telugu states, the film is witnessing amazing housefuls though the FIFA Football World Cup final affected a bit in the first show and second show collections in A1 cities like Hyderabad and Vizag.
The film collected nearly ₹34 crores ‘gross’ from the Telugu states in the first weekend, thus beating many Telugu films that were released in recent times.
Starring Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Stephen Lang, this Computer Generated film took 9 years in the making, and James Cameron made sure to treat the audience to a spectacle that would give them a lifetime movie watching experience inside the movie theatres for 3 hours.
With no other Telugu film doing good at the BO and Adivi Sesh’s HIT 2 almost out of the run, and other films flopping big time, Avatar 2 will have a terrific time this week until Raviteja’s Dhamaka arrives on Dec 23rd.
