18 Pages – The Math Is Simple & Clear

Of course, after “Karthikeya 2” made it big at the box office, many expected that Nikhil’s next film “18 Pages” would get tremendous openings. But then, the Sukumar-writings venture produced by Geetha Arts struggled a bit in B&C centers on Day 1, while it saw good footfalls in multiplexes. However, that doesn’t mean the film will burn the pockets of the producers. Here is the math about it.

“18 Pages” doesn’t need much collection in fact from theatres to safeguard the producer because it is already a safe venture. Despite all the delays in shoots, 18 Pages has cost Allu Arvind a whopping ₹14 crores.

And the non-theatrical rights including satellite rights given to Zee Group and digital streaming rights are given to Netflix (as well as Aha) are said to have fetched almost ₹22 crores. That means the film was released in theatres with ₹8 crores table-profit already.

Cut to the distribution, Geetha Arts did its own release in all the areas through its friends and trusted business partners. So whatever the little collection that comes even in very backward centres, would be a profit for the producers after taking out the theatre costs. While Sukumar will get a share in profits, Allu Arvind will be in super profits only. That’s simple and clear!
