Usually, the evening and second shows at the popular Prasad Imax are full of an audience on any day, and especially on Sundays, we witness terrific crowds. On that note, even an average-rated movie will get at least 30-50% occupancy easily for the evening shows, while the second show will have a 30% minimum. But that’s not the case with Nayanthara’s latest film, Connect.
Nayanthara has promoted “Connect” aggressively, but the film hasn’t impressed anyone in the first place for its outrightly outdated content. For that reason, right now there are no footfalls for the movie. Having a look at the booked tickets, it’s no surprise that there are not even 10 people inside a theatre in most happening centres too. That means, though Nayanthara has come all the way to record interviews for Telugu media, nothing worked out for her.
Right now this is being discussed because the actress stated that she won’t attend film functions of other big films she is part of, because, heroines won’t get attention there. But then, the fact remains that star heroes, music directors and all other celebs together are the ‘crowd pull’ factors and that’s why films that organise such big functions always get big openings. Star heroines will be part of such events, but can’t become the whole event.
On the other hand, promotions are not even needed when the film has stuff inside. Take the case of Masoodha for example, as that film clocked nearly 3+ crores share in Telugu states with not-so-popular casting and almost zero promotions. Well, Nayanthara should understand the logic as Connect result is an eye-opener for sure.
